Reflection

This work turned out better than i had expected. I love the organic feel, the work feels so separated from the crocodile sculpture in appearance, yet still shows the negative space and lines from the shadows. I was initially displeased by the fact that the modrock was quite crumbly, and certain parts were cracking. I did attempt to rectify this, by smoothing out the layers and adding more modrock - but overall it didn't help. In the end, the modrock allowed more flexibilty for posing and thus cracks will occur - but i started to like the texture this created. Another good decision i made was adding black and grey paint on the inside of the circular shapes - this forced a shadowy effect and added more depth. This was tedious to do but elevated the work. After taking pictures of the sculpture, I was certain that this work was beautiful.
